Appaloosa Horses
On this page you will meet our Foundation Appaloosa horses. We have been blessed with some pretty incredible Appaloosas and would love to share them with you. The Appaloosa colors are some of the most diverse and unique in the world. Whatever the pattern ; solid, blanket, snowcap, fewspot or leopard the Appaloosa coat is a source of inspiration and creativity.
Their disposition can be among the very most calm and fearless with some being as unique in personality as their colors. We found the disposition of Scappose, Desi and Rocky to be very suitable for our family , and young River who was born here with us to show plenty of potential. Enjoy their pictures and information ! Short head and short ears. No rat tail ! Plenty of hair and full tail. He even has a bit of a Draft / Gypsy mustache! Just under 15 h with enough bone for anyone and a chill demeanor we couldn’t do without. He is a kind stallion, good to the mares and has been safe in a herd situation where our young children were amongst them daily.

Desi is a 100% FPD Appaloosa mare. Color Genetics are PATN1/PATN1, LP/lp, a/a and E/E. 5 panel clean. In between 15.1 and 15.2 hands tall. She is a tank and has the best hooves I’ve seen on an Appaloosa.
Desi’s Temperament is calm and tolerant. She is very fond of people. It’s nothing for her to seek out a person to hang out with. Bought for my own personal ridding horse, my youngest daughter has stolen her from me! She can bridle Desi herself and get on and ride her bareback all over the property. Desi is a special horse.
She foaled a black leopard colt Dec, 22 and he is available.

Meet Scappose and you will know why this was the Indian War pony of choice. Fearless and determined, Scappose is also tolerant, forgiving and loves her own people, especially kids ! She has tons of hair, big eyes, a gentle expression, good bone and balanced conformation. Easily a favorite broodmare. Her sire had the Indian shuffle gait. Red River Scappose

AKA “River”! 100% FPD (Foundation) Appaloosa filly. Black leopard with possible cream. Spunky, brave and intelligent with a friendly nature. Great bone and hooves. Expected to mature at 14.3>.
Interesting relatives: River’s full sister Sophie, owned by Dan Wallace is in training for working ranch horse and doing well. Her dam’s paternal brother is a champion Reining horse and previously represented the Appaloosa horse at the Kentucky Horse park. River’s maternal grandsire was gaited with the “Indian shuffle”.
She is currently started under saddle training underway now for 90 days. She is doing well and it is so exciting!
We have high hopes for crossing her with DREA Snowyrock Ghost for GAP 5 babies!
